Stuart Young – Founder


Stu obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1966 and participated in the joint MBA/law degree program at the University of Iowa, obtaining a Juris Doctor degree in 1969. He served as an Assistant to the President on the White House staff until 1974. For the past 40 years Stu has built numerous retail strip centers and developed residential and mixed-use projects in the Pacific Northwest as well as making various investments in apartment and office buildings. Stu served as Executive Vice-President of Cinnabon, Inc., an affiliate of Restaurants Unlimited from 1993 until 1997. He subsequently managed Quality Veneer and Lumber, Inc. as its President from 1998 until 2001. Stu has originated and participated as an investor in numerous private real estate loans over the past 20 years. As a result of his education and broad-based experiences, Stu possesses a great deal of knowledge in business, real estate and law.


Eric Thorsen – Founder


Eric graduated from Western Washington University in 1992 with Bachelor of Arts degree in business with a concentration in Finance. Eric has spent most of the past 20 years employed in the real estate, finance and investment industry. In 1993 Eric spent one year as a residential loan officer originating home loans. Starting in 1994 Eric joined Smith Barney and spent three years as a fully licensed financial consultant where he was trained in asset allocation, portfolio management, and investment selection across all asset classes and investment vehicles. Prior to becoming the founder and one of the current owners of Private Capital Northwest, Eric spent the past 20 years working for a local commercial real estate lender. In this position Eric was either directly responsible or involved in the origination and placement of over 600 million in commercial real estate loans with private investors.


Jeff Huber – Founder


Jeff Huber is one of the founding members of Private Capital Northwest, LLC. He graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a focus in Finance in 1996. Upon graduation he went to work for Morgan Stanley as a licensed financial advisor. In 2002, Jeff was recruited to work for Smith Barney as a part of a high net worth, private client office. Towards the end of 2005, and after a 9 year career of managing investment portfolios for clients, a unique opportunity presented itself whereby Jeff could use his finance background in the field of real estate. For the last 12 years Jeff has been involved with the origination, underwriting, and funding of tens of millions of dollars of real estate backed loans.


Christina Williams – Office Manager


Christina Williams is the office manager for Private Capital Northwest and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.  Over the past 18 years she has worked as an Executive Assistant, Credit Manager and Accountant for a high-end travel company, a 4-star hotel, and a commercial property management company. Her excellent attention to detail and organizational skills make Christina a perfect fit to manage the office and service loans originated by Private Capital Northwest.
